Nintendo Switch 2 takes the gaming experience to the next level with more powerful hardware, improved graphics and new social features. The console features a larger 7.9-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution, HDR and support for up to 120 fps in compatible games. When docked, you can play in up to 4K on a compatible TV.*

Joy-Con 2 - new features

The new Joy-Con 2 controllers attach magnetically for added stability and can also be used as a mouse in compatible games. They are designed for handheld, tabletop, and TV modes. With improved ergonomics and optical sensors, gameplay is more responsive and flexible than ever.

GameChat – easier to play together

With GameChat, you can easily start a conversation with your friends, share your screen, or participate in video calls using a compatible USB-C camera (sold separately). The console also has a built-in noise-cancelling microphone for clearer communication. Until March 31, 2026, GameChat is free to use without a membership, after which Nintendo Switch Online is required.

Exclusive games and expanded library

Nintendo Switch 2 is the only platform for new exclusive titles like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. It's also backward compatible with both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games**. There are also special upgrade packs for select Switch games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Party Jamboree to take advantage of the new hardware.

Flexible gameplay

Just like previous models, the Nintendo Switch 2 offers three different ways to play:

• TV mode: Plug the console into the dock to play on your TV in up to 4K.
• Tabletop Mode: Use the improved, stable stand and enjoy gaming together anywhere.
