A new 2D Mario with surprises in every level

Super Mario Bros. Wonder takes the classic side-scrolling Mario form and infuses it with new ideas. Wonder Flowers instantly change the levels when you pick them – pipes start moving, enemies change behavior, and new paths open up. It gives each level a little twist that makes the game feel fresher than many previous installments.

The basic feel is easy to get into, but the variety keeps the game at a steady and fun pace. Each world has its own style and small details that build on Nintendo's clear level design.

The Switch format makes the game easy to pick up for short sessions but long enough for longer playtimes when you want to explore everything.

New power-ups and characters to play as

Among the bigger news is Elephant Mario, a form that lets you dodge obstacles and use water in unique ways. Other power-ups provide extra moves or small advantages that make each playthrough different.

You can also play as several different characters. Toads, Peach, Daisy and other characters are selectable and have small differences that allow you to customize the game to what feels best for you.

Co-op that works both online and locally

The game supports both local co-op and online co-op, making it easy to play together. Locally, it works like previous Mario games – four players on the same level with a lot of chaos but a lot of laughs.

Online, you can see ghostly silhouettes of other players who show you alternative paths or help you back up when you die, which also makes solo play a little more alive.
